The gender perspective focuses on development policies, services and strategies, with the aim of achieving equality between genders and eliminating all forms of discrimination based on gender.Together, we aim to close the divide in the implementation and fulfillment of international commitments and standards on this specific matter, and support compliance with the recommendations issued to the Argentine State by international human rights mechanisms. The human rights-based approach seeks to identify the gaps in protection and due process related to the rights of the people, with a focus on the groups that are in more vulnerable situations.

It also considers remote communities that may have less access to services. It also entails combating discrimination and putting a stop to growing inequalities in gender, ethnicity, age, geographical location, disability and/or immigration status, among other factors. Leaving no one behind entails reaching the furthest behind first by helping the most vulnerable.Transversal strategic priorities and cross-cutting areasįirst, we structured our joint efforts based on four transversal strategic priorities, which include: leaving no one behind, a human rights-based approach, a gender perspective and environmental sustainability and two other cross-cutting areas to target specific issues related to vulnerabilities: territorial and the COVID-19 pandemic. Through their specific mandates, they are building a common strategy of action and cooperation that contributes to people’s well-being, equity, development and rights, in line with the national priorities established in the United Nations Strategic Cooperation Framework, 2021-2025 and the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All these UN entities make up the United Nations system in Argentina and are advancing joint efforts. Currently, there are 22 United Nations entities set to provide technical support to Argentina.
